Jewellery Worth Rs 70 Lakh Stolen in Bold Daylight Robbery in Ranchi

Three armed robbers looted jewellery worth Rs 70 lakh from a shop in Ranchi’s Pandra OP area in a swift 10-minute heist.

In a daring daylight robbery, jewellery valued at Rs 70 lakh was stolen from a shop in Ranchi’s Pandra OP area. The incident took place when three armed robbers, riding a bike, executed the heist within just 10 minutes.

RANCHI – The brazen robbery occurred while the shop owner was away, leaving his mother and an employee at the shop.

Senior police officials and a forensic science team quickly arrived at the scene to start the investigation.

Witnesses reported that the three assailants, aged between 20 and 25, carried out the robbery with remarkable precision.

One of the robbers stood guard outside while his two accomplices entered the shop.

Asha Devi, the shop owner’s mother, recounted that the robbers initially posed as customers, asking to see a bracelet and a ring.

They inquired about prices and requested a discount. As the staff prepared the bill, the robbers drew a small gun, ordered the staff to sit down, and then gathered the jewellery before fleeing on their bike towards Kathal Mor.

Shop employee Sanjeev Kumar confirmed the robbers’ ages and their escape route.

In response, a senior police officer assured that significant clues have been found, and arrests are expected soon.

The police will also conduct a survey to assess the security measures of jewellery shops, emphasizing the need for guards and proper installation of CCTV cameras.

Contrary to initial police estimates of Rs 40 lakh, the shop owner reported a loss of approximately Rs 70 lakh.

At the time of the robbery, the shop owner was at Upper Bazar, leaving his mother and an employee at the shop.

The employee was forced to sit on the ground while the robbers emptied the showcases and escaped.

"The robbers executed their plan with chilling efficiency, but we are confident that they will be apprehended soon," stated a senior police officer.
