JAMSHEDPUR – A herd of untamed elephants has found sanctuary in the woodland area nestled between Muturkham and Chingara Panchayat in Baharagora block, East Singhbhum district, much to the distress of the nearby villagers.

Villagers are staying vigilant throughout the night out of fear.

A group of approximately 25 elephants has been making its way towards the village under the cover of darkness.

Tragically, on May 25, Surendranath Hansdha, the village head of Gobarbani, lost his life in a devastating incident involving elephants while he was on his way to vote at the Dholabeda polling station.

During the evenings, villagers have been seeking refuge in their homes.

Local communities are now feeling even more fearful due to the incident.
