Tension Eased as Authorities Restore Order at Polling Booth in Golmuri
Voting at one booth in Jamshedpur’s Golmuri saw a brief commotion when BJP and JMM supporters had a verbal confrontation at booth number 263 in Punjab Girls High School, Refugee Colony.
JAMSHEDPUR – On election day in Jamshedpur, voting proceeded peacefully in most areas, but a verbal clash occurred around noon at booth number 263 in Punjab Girls High School, Refugee Colony.
Supporters of BJP and JMM got into a scuffle, attempting to influence voters.
The altercation escalated to pushing and shoving between the two groups.
Magistrate Brij Lata and DSP Head Quarter Sudhir Kumar promptly arrived at the scene after being informed by phone.
They took control of the situation, dispersing the crowd and clearing the area of non-voters.
To maintain order, police began questioning people approaching the booth and allowed only those who had already voted to proceed.
The situation has since calmed, and voting continues peacefully.
DSP Sudhir Kumar explained that the issue arose due to the narrowness of the road, which caused difficulties for voters.
He assured that the situation is now normal and under control.
