The commissioning of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) and Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) for Jamshedpur’s six assembly seats has been completed successfully, ensuring transparency and security for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
JAMSHEDPUR – The VVPATs and EVMs for Jamshedpur’s six assembly seats have been successfully commissioned in preparation for the Lok Sabha elections on May 25.
District Election Officer Ananya Mittal supervised the process, ensuring transparency by conducting the commissioning in the presence of candidates and election agents.
Security protocols for the strong rooms were thoroughly examined, with an emphasis on 24/7 CCTV monitoring to ensure constant observation.
A mock poll involving at least 50 votes will be conducted 90 minutes prior to the actual voting to verify the integrity of the EVMs.
All 1887 polling stations in the district are fully prepared for the election day.
In a move to promote inclusivity, home voting options have been made available for the elderly and disabled, demonstrating the electoral commission’s commitment to accessibility.
Additionally, 2207 voters, representing 71.98% of eligible voters, have utilized the postal ballot method.
The meticulous preparation underscores the electoral commission’s dedication to a smooth and transparent election process.
The commissioning event highlighted the importance of voter confidence and the measures taken to ensure the integrity of the voting process.
