Election Officers and Staff Directed to Improve Voter Engagement and Accessibility

Jharkhand CEO K Ravi Kumar has instructed election officers and staff to intensify their preparations for the upcoming phases of the Lok Sabha elections, focusing on voter engagement and accessibility.

RANCHI – Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar has instructed election officers and staff to intensify their preparations for the upcoming phases of the Lok Sabha elections.

The CEO emphasized the importance of distributing voter information slips to every voter and tagging municipal body officials to polling stations.

He also highlighted the need to group voters’ family members and ensure that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors go door-to-door to monitor the distribution of voter slips.

K Ravi Kumar advised the election staff to hold small meetings with polling station awareness groups to inform and engage the voters.

Additionally, he urged to expedite efforts to transport physically disabled voters to the polling booths.

The CEO reviewed the election preparations for the fifth, sixth, and seventh phases of the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand through a video conference with municipal officials on Tuesday.

He called for a comprehensive plan to facilitate disabled and physically handicapped voters’ access to polling stations.

K Ravi Kumar also suggested raising awareness through jingles and songs designed for election day and the days leading up to it.

He directed the creation of a detailed action plan aimed at increasing voter turnout.

The CEO’s directives are aimed at ensuring smooth and efficient voting processes, particularly for urban polling stations.

These measures are expected to enhance voter participation and ensure a more inclusive election process.
