Jharkhand Chief Urges Greater Voter Turnout as Lok Sabha Elections Continue

In a significant move during the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, Jharkhand’s Chief Minister, Champai Soren, cast his vote early Monday, emphasizing the importance of active electoral participation among citizens.

SERAIKELA – Chief Minister Champai Soren participated in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections by voting at Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya in Jilinggora, Seraikela-Kharsawan district, at polling booth number 220.

Post-voting, CM Soren addressed the public, encouraging a robust turnout to strengthen democratic processes.

The polls, which opened at 7 a.m., are part of a larger voting process across four key constituencies in Jharkhand: Singhbhum, Lohardaga, Khunti, and Palamu.

Voting activities are safeguarded by tight security and will conclude at 5 p.m.

According to Jharkhand’s Chief Electoral Officer, K Ravi Kumar, around 64.37 lakh voters are expected to participate, with 7,595 polling stations prepared and over 30,380 staff involved.

Enhanced surveillance measures include webcasting and the installation of 15,000 4D cameras to ensure a fair election.

The electoral contest is particularly notable in Khunti, where Central Minister Arjun Munda of the Bharatiya Janata Party faces Kalicharan Munda from the opposition ‘INDIA’ alliance.

This phase of elections also spans multiple states, engaging a vast number of constituencies and candidates nationwide.
