CII Jharkhand Organizes Pivotal Workshop on Cyber Security for Modern Businesses

Industry Leaders Converge to Address Rising Cyber Threats and Strengthen Security Measures

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Jharkhand, convened a crucial workshop titled "Ensuring Business Security in the Modern Era" on Saturday, focusing on the pressing need for robust cybersecurity measures in the face of escalating digital threats.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a proactive move to address the growing concerns surrounding cybersecurity, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Jharkhand, brought together industry leaders, cybersecurity experts, and key stakeholders for a workshop aimed at fortifying businesses against the evolving landscape of cyber threats.

Diloo Parikh, Chairman of CII Jamshedpur Zonal Council and Managing Director of Vaidehi Motors Pvt Ltd, highlighted the significant growth in digital technology adoption among Indian businesses, particularly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which has enabled them to enhance efficiency and expand their global reach.

However, this digital transformation has also exposed businesses to heightened cybersecurity risks.

Sarajit Jha, Convenor of CII Jharkhand ICT, Startup, and Innovation Panel, and Chief Business Transformation and Business Solutions at TATA Steel, raised the alarm on the staggering rise of global cyber fraud, now a $300 billion industry.

With India accounting for 40% of global digital transactions, Jha emphasized the critical importance of cybersecurity awareness, especially among MSMEs, as a vital defense against sophisticated cyber threats.

Shivam Kamani, Co-Convenor of CII ICT, Startup, and Innovation Panel, and Associate President at Sparx Technologies Pvt Ltd, reiterated the pervasive nature of cybercrime, affecting both individuals and businesses across sectors.

He cited instances where MSMEs suffered substantial financial losses due to cybersecurity lapses and commended CII’s timely initiative in organizing workshops to address this urgent need.

The workshop provided a platform for participants to engage with cybersecurity experts, participate in interactive group activities, and gain valuable insights into best practices for strengthening their cybersecurity frameworks.

Prominent speakers, including Mrinal K Pal from Tata Steel Ltd, Bhargo Dev Chakraborty from Skylink Communications, and Vidya Shankar, DSP (Cyber Crime) at Jamshedpur, shared their expertise and strategies for effectively combating cyber threats.

The CII Jharkhand Workshop on Cyber Security served as a vital forum for industry stakeholders to deepen their understanding of the cybersecurity challenges and solutions in the modern business landscape.

By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, the event underscored the urgent need for collective action in strengthening India’s cybersecurity posture and safeguarding businesses against the ever-evolving threat of cybercrime.

As businesses continue to embrace digital technologies, workshops like these play a crucial role in equipping them with the necessary tools and insights to navigate the complexities of cybersecurity in the modern era.
