JMM Faces Setback as Senior Leader Parikshit Mahato Joins BJP Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls

Kharsawan MLA industry cell representative switches allegiance, along with 400 supporters

Just before the Lok Sabha elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has suffered a significant blow as senior party leader and Kharsawan MLA industry cell representative Parikshit Mahato joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with 400 of his supporters.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a major setback for the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) just before the Lok Sabha elections, senior party leader and Kharsawan MLA industry cell representative Parikshit Mahato has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with 400 of his supporters.

Mahato’s switch to the BJP took place in the presence of Khunti Lok Sabha candidate and Union Minister Arjun Munda and Jamshedpur BJP candidate Vidyut Varan Mahato during a meeting organized at Nengtasai Mango Garden under Gamharia block of Kharsawan assembly constituency.

Parikshit Mahato, who has been in active politics for the last 20 years, cited neglect of the area and unfulfilled promises as the main reasons for joining the BJP, expressing faith in the leadership of Arjun Munda and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During his address, Union Minister Arjun Munda welcomed the new members to the BJP and emphasized the country’s progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the people of the country have resolved to make him the Prime Minister again by winning 400 Lok Sabha seats.

Munda highlighted the welfare schemes introduced by the Prime Minister for Jharkhand and the country’s development, while also criticizing the opposition alliance as leaderless and lacking a face for the Prime Minister’s post.

BJP candidate from Jamshedpur, Vidyut Varan Mahato, also addressed the meeting and appealed for ensuring the victory of Arjun Munda in the upcoming elections.

The event saw the presence of various BJP leaders, including former Kharsawan MLA Mangal Singh Soy, BJP District President Uday Singhdev, former District President Vijay Mahato, and others.

Among the 400 supporters who joined the BJP along with Parikshit Mahato were several prominent JMM leaders, such as Lachu Mahato, Sanat Mahato, Ashok Mahato, Keshav Mahato, Ravindra Mahato, Ratan Mahato, Mahesh Mahato, Dinesh Mahato, Laltu Mahato, Sanjeet Mahato, Gurupad Mahato, Devcharan Mahato, Ajit Mahato, Purushottam Mahato, Mohan Sardar, and Devcharan Mahato.
