ED Seizes Massive Cash Haul Linked to Jharkhand Minister’s Aide Amid Lok Sabha Polls

Raids Uncover Rs 30 Crore at Premises of Congress Leader Alamgir Alam’s Associates

In a significant operation amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has recovered a staggering amount of cash, estimated at around Rs 30 crore, from the premises of Sanjeev Lal and Jahangir, associates of Jharkhand minister and Congress legislature party leader Alamgir Alam.

RANCHI – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has dealt a major blow to alleged illicit financial activities in Jharkhand, seizing a massive cash haul from the premises of Sanjeev Lal, personal assistant to state minister and Congress leader Alamgir Alam, and Jahangir, Alam’s servant.

The raids, conducted on Monday morning, have uncovered bundles of notes amounting to approximately Rs 30 crore, with the counting process still underway and the possibility of more cash being discovered.

The ED team’s swift action, carried out in the midst of the Lok Sabha elections, has sent shockwaves through political circles.

Officials were astounded by the sheer volume of cash found during the raids, with bundles of notes stashed in bags, suitcases, and polythene scattered throughout the premises.

The video footage released by the ED showcases the extent of the cash stockpile, as officials meticulously search every corner of the house.

The raids are believed to be connected to the recent arrest of Birendra Ram, Chief Engineer of the Rural Development Department in the Jharkhand Government.

Ram’s prolonged interrogation by the ED apparently yielded information that led to the discovery of the substantial cash reserves.

Opposition party BJP has been quick to allege that the seized cash was intended for distribution during the ongoing elections, raising questions about the source and purpose of the funds.

As the ED continues its investigation, the spotlight has shifted to the political implications of the seizure and its potential impact on the electoral landscape in Jharkhand.

The incident has sparked a heated debate about the role of money in politics and the need for stricter oversight to prevent the misuse of funds during elections.
