Voter Turnout Remains Low in Fourth Phase of Jharkhand Lok Sabha Elections

Despite Efforts to Boost Participation, Voter Turnout Averages 63.14% Across Four Constituencies

The fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand concluded on Monday, with an average voter turnout of 63.14% across the Khunti, Palamu, Lohardaga, and Singhbhum parliamentary seats. While official figures may slightly vary, the turnout remained relatively low compared to expectations.

RANCHI – In the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand, completed on Monday, the average voter turnout across the Khunti, Palamu, Lohardaga, and Singhbhum parliamentary seats was 63.14%.

The Palamu parliamentary seat recorded the lowest turnout at 59.99%.

Lohardaga followed closely behind, with 62.60% of eligible voters casting their ballots.

In the Khunti parliamentary seat, 65.82% of voters participated in the democratic process.

Singhbhum witnessed the highest turnout among the four constituencies, with 66.11% of the electorate exercising their right to vote.

The fates of prominent candidates such as Union Minister Arjun Munda, MPs BD Ram and Geeta Koda, and contenders Joba Manjhi, Sukhdev Bhagat, Sameer Oraon, Mamta Bhuyan, and Kalicharan Munda now lie sealed within the EVMs.

According to election officials, the estimated figures may see a slight increase of 1-2% once the final tally is released by the Election Commission.

Voter turnout percentages varied within each constituency, with Chaibasa in Singhbhum recording an impressive 70.12% and Hussainabad in Palamu seeing a modest 55.03% participation.

As the nation awaits the outcome of these crucial elections, the focus now shifts to the counting process and the eventual declaration of results.
