On Saturday, Jamshedpur recorded a maximum temperature of 42.3 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 25.4 degrees.
Nearby areas like Baharagora and Seraikela registered even higher temperatures at 43 degrees and 44.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Residents are seeking relief from the oppressive heat, which has enveloped the entire district and intensified by high humidity levels.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted that temperatures could exceed 46 degrees Celsius starting Sunday.
An orange alert has been issued for an imminent heatwave in several districts, including Simdega, Godda, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dhanbad, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Seraikela.
Additionally, a yellow alert has been declared for Bokaro, Ramgarh, Ranchi, and Khunti, signaling the need for caution among residents.
Authorities are urging the public to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, and take precautions to mitigate the impact of the heatwave.
