RANCHI – In an effort to fortify the security of judicial premises and residences of judges in Jharkhand, the state police headquarters has initiated several key measures.

These measures are aimed at addressing and rectifying any security deficiencies promptly.

Among these initiatives, the installation of CCTV systems in all court premises and residential areas of judges has been prioritized, with a completion deadline set for March 31.

The undertaking follows a detailed review meeting that discussed various aspects of current security protocols and identified areas for improvement.

The security overhaul entails:

A complete reassessment and enhancement of security protocols in all district courts and judges’ residences.

Range DIGs are now tasked with conducting surprise inspections of these premises within the next ten days to ensure compliance and identify any lapses.

A directive for monthly security audits by Superintendents of Police (SPs) has been issued to maintain ongoing vigilance.

An emphasis on expediting the installation of CCTV across all judiciary-related facilities, with specific instructions to collaborate with ZAP IT for timely completion.

Monthly Security Audits and CCTV Enhancement

In response to recent large-scale police transfers, there’s a renewed focus on ensuring that all officers and personnel are adequately briefed on security procedures.

Additionally, SPs have been instructed to prepare for the computerized checking of individuals entering court premises to enhance security further.

Strengthening Court Visitor Security

A significant outcome of the security review meeting is the push towards establishing computerized entry checks at court premises.

This move is aimed at improving the vetting process for visitors, thereby enhancing overall security.
