Westerly Winds Fuel Rising Temperatures Across 11 Districts in Jharkhand

Jharkhand is currently battling intense heat wave conditions, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius across multiple districts. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert, predicting that these conditions will persist until April 28.

RANCHI – Following a brief respite from light rain, the weather has once again turned hot as westerly winds intensify across the state.

Meteorologist Abhishek Anand has indicated that heat wave conditions will persist on April 25 and 26 in various districts, including those within the Kolhan and North Chhotanagpur divisions.

Districts like Jamtara, Dumka, Pakur, Godda, and Sahibganj are also experiencing severe heat, with temperatures soaring past the 40-degree mark.

Godda, in particular, has recorded a temperature of 44.1 degrees Celsius, marking it as the hottest location in the state today.

Other districts such as East Singhbhum and Palamu are not far behind, recording temperatures of 43.7 and 41.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.

On April 27 and 28, the heat wave is expected to intensify further, affecting up to 14 districts including the state capital, Ranchi.

This escalation in temperatures underscores the continued climatic challenges faced by the region, affecting daily life and prompting significant concern from local authorities.
