Jharkhand Faces Severe Heat Wave, Temperatures Soar Across the State
Heat Wave Grips Jharkhand, Causing Major Discomfort and Keeping Residents Indoors
Jharkhand is currently enduring a severe heat wave, with extremely high temperatures driving people to stay indoors and leaving streets deserted during peak heat hours.
RANCHI – The most intense heat was recorded in Seraikela Kharsawan district at a scorching 45 degrees Celsius on Friday, while Baharagora and Jamshedpur experienced temperatures of 44.1 and 43.7 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Ranchi, although slightly cooler, still faced high temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert for several districts, indicating potential further increases in temperature.
This heat wave affects a wide area, including the Kolhan Division’s East and West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts, as well as multiple districts across the North Chhotanagpur and Santal Divisions.
In response to the extreme heat, local wildlife, including African Zebras and Himalayan Sloth Bears at a Zoological Park in Jamshedpur, have been seen seeking respite within their enclosures.
Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and follow safety guidelines issued by health officials during this period.
