JAMSHEDPUR – A recently inaugurated park, funded by MLA resources in front of the Jamshedpur District Bar Association, was demolished, leading to significant unrest among local lawyers.
The park, opened two months ago by MLA Saryu Rai, was vandalized on a court holiday, catching the legal community off-guard the following day.
Upon noticing the demolition, advocates expressed profound displeasure, prompting a delegation to seek intervention from the Chief Justice of Jamshedpur Court.
The Chief Justice, alongside the Registrar and other officials, assessed the situation and committed to reconstructing the park, which temporarily alleviated tensions.
Plans have been revealed to replace the park with an e-court compound, despite prior assurances to the advocates that existing structures would be preserved to accommodate court visitors and legal professionals.
The legal community highlighted the lack of parking and adequate facilities within the court premises, underscoring the need for better infrastructure to support both lawyers and their clients.
