Jharkhand’s Seven Districts Scorch in 40-Degree Heatwave

Temperature Rise Hits Critical Levels, No Rainfall in Sight for Coming Days

As Jharkhand faces a severe heatwave, temperatures have soared past 40 degrees Celsius in several districts, raising significant health and safety concerns.

RANCHI – The scorching heat continues as seven of Jharkhand’s twenty-four districts have recorded temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

Godda, in Santal Pargana, registered the highest at 42.2 degrees Celsius.

Seraikela was not far behind, marking 42 degrees Celsius.

In Jamshedpur, the mercury touched 40.8 degrees Celsius, a rise of 0.7 degrees from previous records.

Meanwhile, Ranchi saw an increase of 2.2 degrees, reaching 36.8 degrees Celsius.

Daltonganj also felt the heat with a recorded temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius.

All three cities, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Daltonganj, recorded minimum temperatures above the usual levels.

The Meteorological Department warns of a further temperature increase by 3 to 4 degrees in the next few days under clear skies.

From April 20, skies may turn partly cloudy, yet no rainfall is expected until then.

Ranchi’s maximum is predicted to hit 39 degrees by April 19, with minimum temperatures rising to 25 degrees.

Despite the intense heat, light to moderate rainfall occurred in some regions over the last day, with Sahibganj receiving the highest at 48.4 mm.

Seraikela reported a maximum temperature of 41.3 degrees recently, while Garhwa had the lowest minimum at 22.2 degrees Celsius.
