CHANDIL – As Jharkhand’s Assembly elections approach, political activity has ramped up across the state, with many social activists, like Sukhram Hembrom, entering the fray.
The Ichagarh seat has been significant, once represented by the late Sudhir Mahto, who rose to become Deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
This year, Sukhram Hembrom, a prominent social activist and Jharkhand movement supporter, is vying for this seat with strong backing.
Sukhram Hembrom’s Campaign and Criticism
Sukhram Hembrom has gained attention for actively participating in local issues, making his presence felt across Ichagarh.
His recent meeting with supporters at the Rahul Palace Hotel in Chandil set the stage for a large public gathering.
This upcoming meeting, scheduled for September 21, will take place at Phulo Jhano Chowk near Tuidungri in Chowka.
Under the banner of "Clean Chandil, Healthy Chandil," Hembrom intends to address pressing local issues.
Aiming for Development
Hembrom has made it clear that the upcoming "Ichagarh Mukti Sankalp Sabha" is meant to draw attention to the region’s 35-year-long lack of development.
He lamented the stagnation, stating that no real progress had been made in reducing unemployment or improving basic infrastructure.
“People have been deceived by false promises for too long," Hembrom said.
"The time has come to free Ichagarh from its problems and bring about real change."
He urged the public to attend the September 21 gathering in large numbers, calling it a historic opportunity for transformation.
A Push for Change
Hembrom’s platform revolves around advocating for local issues rather than party politics.
He has promised to focus on the needs of Ichagarh’s residents, many of whom have been forced to migrate in search of employment.
He emphasized that change can only be achieved with local support and requested the people to bless his movement.
