Amity University Jharkhand Honors Indigenous Culture with Online Event
An online talk hosted by Amity University Jharkhand’s SC/ST Committee for World Indigenous Day focused on recognizing and understanding indigenous cultures and their contributions.
JAMSHEDPUR – Associate professor Shovona Choudhury gave a thank-you speech at the event’s conclusion, expressing gratitude for the participation and shared insights.
The event’s keynote speaker, assistant professor of business at Amity University Jharkhand’s Amity School of Business, Ambrish Gautam, spoke to the audience. He covered significant topics such as women’s rights in relation to indigenous communities, issues pertaining to the tribes, and the history of some regional language words mentioned in the census.
Along with fostering a sense of respect, inclusion, and cultural appreciation, the event offered the university community an opportunity to interact and learn about Indigenous communities, their history, customs, and present challenges.
The purpose of World Indigenous Day celebrations at Amity University was to enhance awareness of, foster understanding of, and recognize Indigenous cultures, contributions, and rights globally, with a particular emphasis on Jharkhand.
Provost of Amity University in Jharkhand, Ashok K. Srivastava, sent his greetings on this special occasion, reflecting the university’s commitment to celebrating diversity and inclusiveness.
The SC/ST Committee, the student welfare department, and the founding president and chancellor of Amity University Jharkhand worked in unison to organize this enriching online talk, marking World Indigenous Day on Wednesday.
