TSAF Academy Claims Fifth Straight National Climbing Title
East Zone Team Secures Championship with 41 Points in Bengaluru

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur-based TSAF Sport Climbing Academy claimed its fifth consecutive national championship title at the 29th National Sport Climbing Championship 2025.
The championship took place in Bengaluru from December 26 to 29. Athletes from TSAF represented the IMF East Zone. The event featured multiple categories and three climbing disciplines.
Competitions were held across Sub Junior Boys and Girls categories. Junior Boys and Girls also participated. Open Men’s and Women’s categories completed the roster.
Three disciplines tested the athletes’ skills. Lead climbing challenged their endurance. Speed climbing tested their quickness. Bouldering examined their problem-solving abilities.
The East Zone team dominated the overall standings. They accumulated 41 points to claim the championship. The West Zone finished second with 34 points. This victory marks a historic fifth consecutive title for the academy.
TSAF athletes achieved remarkable success in individual events. The team collected 22 medals in total. Seven gold medals topped their tally. Five silver medals added to the achievement. Ten bronze medals completed their impressive haul.
Shankar Singh Kuntiya excelled in Sub Junior Boys category. He won gold in Lead climbing. Moreover, he secured bronze in Speed discipline. Debasish Mahato claimed silver in Speed. He also grabbed gold in Bouldering.
Manisha Hansda delivered outstanding performance in Sub Junior Girls division. She won gold in Bouldering. Additionally, she earned bronze medals in both Lead and Speed. Sunil Mahato contributed with bronze in Bouldering.
Sagar Patro added bronze in Lead climbing. Suku Singh secured bronze in Junior Boys Bouldering. Amar Khandwal won bronze in Lead discipline. Rajesh Honhaga claimed bronze in Speed.
Sudarshan Murmu dominated Speed climbing. He won gold in Junior Boys category. Savitri Samad earned silver in Junior Girls Bouldering. Nandani Singh secured silver in Lead climbing.
Sangita Tiyu contributed bronze in Lead discipline. Aman Verma shined in Open Men’s category. He won gold in Lead climbing. Furthermore, he secured silver in Bouldering.
Anisha Verma claimed gold in Open Women’s Lead. Kiran Singh Thakur won silver in Speed climbing. Joga Purty delivered dual success. She won gold in Speed. On the other hand, she also secured bronze in Bouldering.
A dedicated support team accompanied the athletes. Babu Lal served as coach. Kumar Gaurav managed the team operations. Sunkyo Jin attended as observer.
Disha Dangat provided physiotherapy services. Partho Massure worked as sports psychologist. Siddhi Kabra also contributed as sports psychologist. The support staff ensured optimal athlete performance throughout the championship.
The academy’s consistent success demonstrates strong training programs. Young climbers receive world-class coaching facilities. The five-year winning streak reflects systematic athlete development. TSAF continues nurturing climbing talent in eastern India.
