Joba Majhi Recognized for Her Contributions to Anganwadi Workers

The Jharkhand State Social Welfare Anganwadi Workers’ Union honored newly elected MP Joba Majhi on Sunday at St. Xavier’s Boys’ School Auditorium in Singhbhum.

CHAIBASA – The Jharkhand State Social Welfare Anganwadi Workers’ Union organized a ceremony at St. Xavier’s Boys’ School Auditorium to honor newly elected MP Joba Majhi.

Union officials draped her in a shawl and presented her with a bouquet.

Prior to this, Majhi was welcomed with traditional dance and songs.

Union District President Martin Murmu expressed gratitude to Majhi, recalling her previous efforts as a departmental minister, including salary increments for workers.

During the ceremony, various demands were presented to Majhi, such as the actual remuneration for workers, exemption from BLO duties, correction of rulebook errors, and issues related to service conditions and promotions.

Majhi, moved by the honor, stated that Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in addressing malnutrition and anemia.

"Although I am no longer a minister of this department, I am well aware of the workers’ struggles and will continue to fight for their rights as an MP," said Majhi.

She assured that she would soon discuss these issues with the state minister and secretary and bring related matters to the attention of the central government in Parliament.

Union President Anita Birua, Martin Murmu, and Hardeo Singh Yadav praised Majhi’s efforts in their speeches.

The ceremony was attended by numerous workers and officials from West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts, including Jhuma Mishra, Shyam Rajak, Ramchandra Rajak, Ajay Sharma, Urmila Pingua, Maya Melgandi, Kamla Laguri, Archana Mahato, and Sumitra.
