Jamshedpur FC Overturns Deficit to Beat Mumbai City FC 3-2 in ISL Clash

In a thrilling ISL 2023-24 encounter, Jamshedpur FC staged a remarkable second-half comeback to defeat Mumbai City FC 3-2.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC delivered a spectacular performance, overturning a first-half deficit to secure a 3-2 victory against Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena in the latest round of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season. The match witnessed a spirited comeback from the visitors in the second half, underlining the impact of head coach Khalid Jamil’s leadership.

The home team, Mumbai City FC, initially took the lead with Tiri and Alberto Noguera scoring in the 14th and 32nd minutes, respectively. Their efforts from set pieces seemed to set Mumbai City FC for a comfortable win at the halftime.

However, the narrative changed dramatically post-interval as Jamshedpur FC, rejuvenated by Jamil’s halftime talk, mounted an impressive comeback.

Imran Khan initiated the scoring for the visitors in the 56th minute, finding the net off a rebound, showcasing his growing confidence and the tactical acumen of the new head coach.

The momentum firmly shifted in Jamshedpur FC’s favor when Jeremy Manzorro equalized with a precise shot from the edge of the box, following an assist from RFYC graduate Mohammed Sanan.

Manzorro then converted a penalty in the 88th minute, securing a memorable win for Jamshedpur FC and continuing Jamil’s unbeaten record against Mumbai City FC in the ISL.

Jeremy Manzorro was named Key Performer of the Match, praised for his midfield dominance and crucial goals, which underscored his ability to lead and perform in high-pressure situations.

Looking ahead, Mumbai City FC will face East Bengal FC in Kolkata, while Jamshedpur FC is set to host Bengaluru FC, as both teams continue their campaign in the ISL season.
