JAMSHEDPUR – The city of Jamshedpur was enveloped in a blanket of festive fervor as Sikh devotees from far and wide congregated in Gurudwaras to celebrate Khalsa Sajna Divas, also known as Baisakhi, on Saturday.

The auspicious occasion was marked by an outpouring of devotion, community spirit, and acts of selfless service, reflecting the core values of Sikhism.

One of the focal points of the celebration was the completion of the Shri Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, a sacred ritual involving the uninterrupted recitation of the Sikh holy scripture.

Devotees participated in this continuous reading, immersing themselves in the timeless wisdom and teachings enshrined within the revered text.

As the final verses of the Akhand Path were recited, an air of spiritual fulfillment permeated the Gurudwaras, marking a moment of profound significance for the congregation.

Following the conclusion of the Akhand Path, devotees eagerly partook in the sacred offering of Prasad, a symbol of the divine blessings bestowed upon the community.

The distribution of Prasad served as a unifying force, bringing together individuals from all walks of life in a shared moment of spiritual communion and gratitude.

In keeping with the Sikh tradition of langar, a communal meal was organized after the Ardas, the Sikh prayer.

This act of service and equality saw devotees, irrespective of their social or economic background, come together to partake in a humble meal prepared and served with love and devotion.

The langar epitomized the Sikh principle of oneness, reminding all present of the importance of compassion and unity.

The celebration of Baisakhi holds immense historical and spiritual significance for the Sikh community, as it marks the establishment of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699.

This momentous event symbolizes the values of courage, selflessness, and righteousness that define the Khalsa identity, serving as a guiding light for devotees in their daily lives.

As the festive atmosphere enveloped the city, the spirit of brotherhood and unity could be felt in every corner.

The celebration of Khalsa Sajna Divas in Jamshedpur not only paid tribute to the rich cultural heritage of Sikhism but also served as a powerful reminder of the universal message of love, equality, and devotion that lies at the heart of the Sikh faith, as taught by Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the subsequent Sikh Gurus.
