District Administration Intensifies Vigilance at Inter-State Check Point in Chakulia
DEO, DM, SSP, and Rural SP instruct officials to increase vehicle checks and take action against potential electoral malpractices
Ananya Mittal, the District Election Officer (DEO) and District Magistrate (DM) of East Singhbhum, along with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Rural Superintendent of Police (SP), conducted an inspection at the inter-state check point established at Bend of Chakulia block, bordering West Bengal.
JAMSHEDPUR – The inspection comes in the wake of the announcement of the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024, which has prompted the activation of inter-state and inter-district check points in the district.
During the visit, the officials instructed the deputed magistrates, police officers, and police forces to intensify vehicle checking and take active measures against the transportation of liquor, drugs, gifts, and money, which could potentially hinder the conduct of fair elections.
The administration’s proactive approach aims to curb any attempts to influence voters or engage in electoral malpractices.
By focusing on the inter-state check point, the officials seek to prevent the illegal movement of goods and cash across the border, which could be used to sway the election outcome.
The presence of high-ranking officials such as the DEO, DM, SSP, and Rural SP at the inspection site underscores the importance given to ensuring free and fair elections in the district.
The collaborative effort between the district administration and the police force demonstrates their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.
As the Lok Sabha elections draw closer, similar vigilance measures are expected to be implemented at other critical points throughout the district to safeguard the democratic process and protect the rights of the voters.
