JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur’s administration is advancing election preparations with stringent expenditure monitoring strategies to ensure fair and transparent Lok Sabha elections slated for May 25, 2024.

A key meeting recently took place in Jamshedpur’s Collectorate Auditorium, steered by District Election Officer Ananya Mittal.

The discussion primarily centered on establishing robust mechanisms for rigorous oversight of campaign spending by candidates and political parties.

Ananya Mittal emphasized the importance of vigilance in monitoring election expenditures, setting a spending cap at Rs 95 lakh per candidate.

Documentation strategies were discussed, stressing error-free record keeping for each candidate’s spending.

Further, a collaborative approach was stressed, ensuring teams work closely to oversee spending throughout the election period.

Representatives from political parties and monitoring teams are scheduled to reconcile financial accounts on set dates, enhancing transparency and accountability.

The meeting underscored the critical roles of various officials, including Manish Kumar, Dipankar Chaudhary, and other district and constituency-level supervisors.

With the elections approaching, this meeting highlighted the district’s proactive measures to safeguard electoral integrity through detailed expenditure monitoring.
