Tata Motors Announces Block Closure on March 26

Partial salary for employees; essential staff to report for duty

Tata Motors has declared a block closure at its plant on March 26, with a directive that employees will receive half of their usual day’s salary for this period.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Motors Jamshedpur would have a block closure on March 26.

The plant head has issued an official order for the closure, specifying that while the majority of employees will not work on this day, a select group will be required to report for duty as per a separate notice.

Employees designated for work during the block closure are expected to adhere to their reporting schedules.

Should an employee who is called to work find themselves unable to attend, they have been given the option to apply for leave.

This decision is part of Tata Motors‘ operational strategies, ensuring that essential operations continue smoothly while accommodating the need for a block closure.

The company has prepared for this event by communicating expectations clearly to its workforce, including the provision of half-day salaries for those not required to work and the procedure for those needed on-site.

Sources added that this measure reflects Tata Motors’ commitment to balancing operational efficiency with employee welfare, highlighting a structured approach to managing work schedules and compensation.

It may be added here that the Jamshedpur plant of Tata Motors has declared Holi holiday on Monday 25th March.

This information has been shared in the circular issued under the signature of Plant Head Ravindra Kulkarni.

Apart from this, on Tuesday 26th March, the second day of Holi, the company has taken one day’s block closure.

Sources indicated that this action has been taken in view of the decrease in work orders of the company.

During the block closure, employees will get 50 percent salary while 50 percent salary will be deducted. Employees or officers who will be called on duty will be given special orders, based on which they will perform duty, but in return they will have one day off.

Till date the company has taken block closure of five days in the months of February and March.
