JAMSHEDPUR – The three-day dance festival NRITYA-BASANT, hosted from March 19th to 21st, 2024, at the Sonari Community Centre, became a vibrant platform for showcasing a wide range of dance forms, including Indian Classical, Semi-Classical, Folk, and Bollywood.
The event was a significant part of Tata Steel Foundation’s Urban Services initiatives, focusing on the welfare and social development of the urban poor in Jamshedpur.
In a remarkable display of community and talent, 630 participants spread across 65 teams brought the stage to life with their performances, celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of India through dance.
Children and women from the Masti Ki Pathshala (MKP), a residential school managed by Tata Steel Foundation for deprived children, were among the performers, highlighting their untapped potential and artistic skills.
The NRITYA-BASANT festival not only provided a stage for participants from marginalized sections of society to showcase their talents but also served as a conduit for promoting and preserving Indian classical and contemporary dance forms.
