Speeding Vehicle Collision Results in Casualties, Multiple Injuries in Govindpur

In a heartbreaking incident on GT Road, Govindpur, a girl student lost her life, and a dozen others were injured in a collision involving a bus and a speeding vehicle.

DHANBAD – A devastating road accident on GT Road, Govindpur, has resulted in the death of a girl student, identified as Arpita Chandra of Nirsa, Dhanbad.

Arpita, pursuing MSc from BBMKU, was among the passengers in a bus when a speeding vehicle struck it from behind near the East India turn.

The collision caused significant injuries to passengers, particularly those seated at the rear of the bus.

Immediate medical assistance was sought, with the injured being rushed to SNMMCH and a local private hospital for treatment.

Eyewitnesses and ASI Mithilesh Kumar confirmed the bus was traveling from Dhanbad to Asansol when the accident occurred due to sudden braking by the bus driver.

The impact of the crash was severe, prompting a swift response from bystanders and local authorities to aid the victims.

Family members of the deceased and injured have been left in despair, grappling with the aftermath of this tragic event.

Deceased student Arpita Chandra was en route home from BBMKU aboard Shri Gokul bus when the tragedy struck.

Local residents and authorities collaborated promptly to ensure the injured received necessary medical attention following the accident.

Investigation and Safety

ASI Mithilesh Kumar from Govindpur police station highlighted the sudden stop made by the bus driver as the critical factor leading to the rear-end collision.

This incident puts a spotlight on the importance of maintaining safe distances and speed control to prevent such accidents.
