JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand government announced school closures for three days. Severe cold wave conditions prompted the emergency decision. Moreover, the order covers all educational institutions across the state.

The School Education and Literacy Department issued official directives. Classes will remain suspended from January 6 to 8. However, the closure affects students from pre-nursery to Class 12 only.

All government schools will observe the shutdown completely. Government-aided institutions must follow the directive as well. In addition, non-aided schools fall under this mandatory closure order.

Private schools across Jharkhand received similar instructions immediately. Minority-aided educational institutions must also comply with the directive. Furthermore, the order encompasses schools of all categories statewide.

The decision follows escalating cold wave intensity throughout the region. Temperature drops have created health concerns for young students. On the other hand, authorities prioritized student safety over academic continuity.

Previous school closures in Jamshedpur demonstrated similar precautionary measures. East Singhbhum has experienced multiple cold-related disruptions this winter. Meanwhile, Ranchi schools faced similar situations during December.

Parents had previously demanded timing changes due to harsh weather conditions. Many institutions had already adjusted schedules to accommodate morning cold spells. Besides, health experts recommended limiting early morning outdoor exposure.

The state government continues monitoring weather conditions closely. Officials may extend the closure if temperatures remain dangerously low. In contrast, schools will reopen on January 9 if conditions improve.

Educational authorities advised parents to keep children indoors currently. Warm clothing and adequate heating remain essential during this period. Furthermore, elderly residents should also take necessary precautionary measures.

School administrations received instructions through official communication channels. District education officers will ensure compliance across their jurisdictions. Moreover, any violations will face appropriate administrative action from authorities.
