Stricter traffic rules in city now, drunken and rash driving may result in jailing

Jamshedpur: Rash and drunken driving will now invite strict action from the city traffic police. Anyone found indulging in rash and drunken driving might even be jailed.

City police have launched an awareness campaign in the city to make drivers aware about the new traffic rules. The Dy SP Babban Singh is himself leading it and is monitoring the progress of the awareness campaign.

The DIG of Kolhan Rajiv Ranjan Singh had held a meeting with senior police officials of the district 2 days back and had asked them to enforce the changed traffic rules strictly in the city.

The center has changed the traffic rules recently and the state government has adopted these rules too.

The new rules envisage strict action against those who indulge in rash and drunken driving and even provide for prosecution and jailing if found guilty.

Acting on the instructions of the DIG, the city traffic police have now gone into an over-drive and are keeping an eye on possible traffic rule violators.

For a few days, the drivers would be made aware and after that rules would be enforced much more strictly and action would be taken against violators.
