Attack on Ranchi’s Stone Quarry Plant in Pithoria by Militants Leads to Vehicle Arson and Worker Assault
In a late-night assault on a stone quarry plant in Ranchi’s Pithoria area, militants set ablaze vehicles and attacked workers, causing substantial damage and inciting fear among the labor force.
RANCHI – Pithoria police launched a night-long operation in rural Ranchi following an attack by militants on a stone quarry plant.
The assault resulted in significant financial losses for plant owner Waris Ansari, amounting to crores.
In an aggressive display, a group of approximately twelve militants invaded Warish Ansari’s stone mine in Sanga, near the Pithoria police station, around 1 a.m. Friday.
They began their onslaught by seizing mobile phones from laborers and employees, followed by setting fire to vehicles on the premises.
Vehicles targeted included a DG, forklift, loader, and highway equipment, all essential to the quarry’s operation.
The militants also physically assaulted workers during their half-hour rampage, issuing threats to prevent further work until their demands for discussions were met.
This area is known for the activity of both TPC and PLFI militant organizations, with suspicions pointing towards TPC as the perpetrators.
This act of violence is believed to be connected to demands for levy from the quarry operations.

Following the incident, Pithoria police, under senior officials’ orders, commenced a stringent campaign against extremist groups.
This response underscores the authorities’ determination to restore order and protect local businesses from such threats.
