Water Crisis Solution Proposed for Jamshedpur
MLA Saryu Roy proposes linking Chandil to Dimna Dam for better water supply.
Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy’s proposal to connect Chandil Dam directly to Dimna Dam aims to enhance water supply and quality in the region, ensuring no issues in water purification.
JAMSHEDPUR – Minister Basant Soren has promised a high-level meeting in Jamshedpur to address the water supply issue.
He agreed to MLA Saryu Roy’s suggestion for a collaborative effort with Tata Steel for a lasting solution.
This move could pave the way for utilizing Dimna Dam, owned by Tata Steel, to improve water distribution.
Soren highlighted the government’s openness to the plan, provided Tata Steel is on board.
The discussion was prompted by Saryu Roy’s emphasis on the water supply challenges faced by Jamshedpur and its vicinity.
Roy pointed out that, apart from Dimna, Chandil and Satnala Dams also exist as potential water sources.
He stated the importance of Dimna Dam in the current water supply system to the area.
This demand was raised by Roy during a session in the Assembly.
