JWU Gears Up for First Convocation Ceremony
Jamshedpur Women’s University to Celebrate Inaugural Graduation on March 2
Jamshedpur Women’s University is set to host its first convocation ceremony on March 2, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history.
JAMSHEDPUR – A 500-bed hostel at the Jamshedpur Women’s University is poised to open its doors soon, complementing the institution’s expansion with enhanced student facilities.
Additionally, the university plans to purchase a bus, aiming to improve transportation for students and staff.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta acknowledged the dedication of JWU’s faculty, highlighting their role as the university’s backbone amidst ongoing challenges.
Despite having only 21 out of 61 approved teaching positions filled, the commitment of the current faculty members has been instrumental in navigating the institution’s complexities.
The Vice Chancellor revealed that 84 gold medalist students from 2020 to 2022 will not receive medals due to jurisdictional limitations with Kolhan University.
A unique dress code has been established for the convocation, directing girl students and teachers to wear attires with specified colors and patterns.
To accommodate the attendees, a grand pandal with a seating capacity of 1000 is being constructed at the Sidhgora campus.
The convocation ceremony will be broadcasted live, allowing wider participation in celebrating the academic accomplishments of the graduates.
Out of 1014 students eligible this session, 702 have registered to attend the ceremony, showcasing a wide array of academic disciplines.
Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta announced that 702 girl students would receive degrees, with 28 top achievers awarded gold medals, at the Sidhgora campus ceremony.
University’s Milestones and Innovations

The planned 500-bed hostel and the acquisition of a university bus underscore JWU’s commitment to enhancing student life and accessibility.

Despite limitations on awarding gold medals to students from previous years, the university continues to celebrate academic excellence with a specially prepared silver medal for the ceremony.
