JAMSHEDPUR – An unidentified body was discovered on the railway line near Gadra, between the Tatanagar and Salga Jhari stations, on Tuesday morning.

The body, found severed into two, prompted local residents to alert the Govindpur police.

Upon notification, police officers arrived at the scene, secured the body, and initiated a post-mortem examination.

The deceased is believed to be around 40 years old, with police currently working to ascertain the individual’s identity through local inquiries.

The loco pilot of the Steel Express had reported the body’s presence to the Salgajhuri East cabin that morning, located between the Salga Jhari East and West cabins.

Prakash Kumar Rajan, head of Govindpur police station, suggested the death might be a suicide, given the body’s placement relative to the tracks.

Efforts to identify the deceased are ongoing, as authorities seek to piece together the circumstances leading to this tragic event.
