Modi Kickstarts Tatanagar Railway Station Upgrade Worth Crores
Prime Minister’s Amrit Bharat Yojana to Transform Railways with High-Value Projects.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a significant step forward in the modernization of Indian Railways under the Amrit Bharat Yojana, inaugurating and laying the foundation for projects worth crores, including substantial upgrades at Tatanagar Railway Station in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – On Monday, an ambitious program was organized at Tatanagar Railway Station, marking a pivotal moment in the advancement of railway infrastructure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Through an online ceremony, Modi laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Tatanagar Railway Station, enhancing its capabilities and aesthetics.
The event was distinguished by the presence of Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, South Eastern Railway GM AK Mishra, and Chakradharpur Railway Division DRM AJ Rathore, among others.

Governor Radhakrishnan praised the rapid development and expansion of the railways during Modi’s tenure, emphasizing the improvement in cleanliness and the global standard identity that Indian railway stations are beginning to adopt.
Jamshedpur MP Mahato highlighted the expected ease in rail travel and transportation, along with increased employment opportunities following the Tatanagar Station’s redevelopment.
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme led by Prime Minister Modi encompasses the inauguration and foundation of 554 railway stations and 1500 footover bridges and underpasses.
A total investment of Rs. 580 crore is earmarked for the development of 18 railway stations under the Chakradharpur Railway Division, including Tatanagar, which alone will see a development cost of Rs. 335 crore.
The foundation stone for the redevelopment of 18 stations in Jharkhand was laid, aiming for a comprehensive upgrade with a budget of around Rs 600 crore, covering stations like Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, and Gamharia.
Additionally, 27 stations in Jharkhand, including Chaibasa and Dongaposi, are set for online redevelopment, with a projected investment of Rs 600 crore, enhancing the rail network’s infrastructure and passenger experience significantly.

The program celebrated the initiation of a vast project that promises to elevate the railway experience to world-class standards.
Notable attendees included Ranchi Division’s DRM, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, and other dignitaries, underscoring the collaborative effort behind these monumental projects.
Infrastructure Leap
The Chakradharpur Railway Division is set to witness the redevelopment of 11 stations and the construction of 40 FOBs and underpasses, with a total budget of Rs 580 crore.
This comprehensive redevelopment plan is set to redefine the benchmarks for railway infrastructure in India.
