Vintage Rally Marks Tata’s Legacy in Jamshedpur
Tata Steel Hosts 3rd Vintage Car & Bike Rally in Honour of Founder’s Vision
The 3rd edition of the Tata Steel Vintage and Classic Car & Bike Rally in Jamshedpur celebrated the 185th Founder’s Day, showcasing over 150 automobiles from the 1920s to 1980s.
JAMSHEDPUR – The city of Jamshedpur today witnessed the grandeur of the 3rd edition of the Tata Steel Vintage and Classic Car & Bike Rally.
The event, held at Gopal Maidan, was not just a display of antique beauty but also a tribute to the cultural heritage and the visionary founder of Tata Group, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.
The rally, adorned with over 150 vintage and classic cars and bikes, brought together enthusiasts and participants from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Punjab, and Odisha, underlining the city’s rich cultural history and its connection to prized vintage automobiles.
A Cultural Spectacle on Wheels
The rally, flagged off by key Tata Steel officials, including Chanakya Chaudhary and Probal Ghosh, covered iconic landmarks like Bharucha Mansion, Jubilee Park, and St. George’s Church, among others.
It culminated at the United Club after a 23-km journey, turning into a spectacle cherished by the citizens of Jamshedpur.
The enthusiastic participation and the crowd gathered to witness these vintage beauties highlight Jamshedpur’s vibrant community spirit and its deep-rooted cultural significance.
Celebration of Heritage and History
Chanakya Chaudhary, during the prize distribution ceremony, emphasized the rally’s alignment with Tata Steel’s philosophy of preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
The event not only showcased rare automobiles but also celebrated the rich history and culture of Jamshedpur.
The presence of esteemed guests and senior officials from Tata Steel at the event underscored the company’s commitment to community engagement and cultural preservation.
Champions of the Rally
The rally saw Sourav Roy’s Mercury 8 and Hermit Singh Bhamra’s Triumph 3HW clinching the Overall Champion titles in the Best Car and Best Bike categories, respectively.
The adjudication by a panel of judges and the participation of the Super Biker’s club of Jamshedpur, which included two women riders among the display of 16 bikes, highlighted the inclusivity and diversity of the event.
Growing Popularity and Vision for the Future
Initiated in 2022, the Tata Steel Vintage and Classic Car & Bike Rally is becoming a landmark event in Jamshedpur, reflecting the growing interest and participation with each edition.
It symbolizes Tata Steel’s efforts to nurture India’s sports, arts, and cultural heritage, aiming to make the Jamshedpur Rally a sought-after event not just locally but nationally.
