Congress, JMM Close to Finalizing Seat Sharing for Jharkhand Lok Sabha Seats
The INDIA alliance in Jharkhand, consisting of Congress and JMM, is on the verge of finalizing a seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with an official announcement expected soon.
RANCHI – Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leadership in Jharkhand are reportedly finalizing the seat-sharing agreement for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
This development comes as Jharkhand Congress MLAs have arrived in Delhi seeking to secure better representation within the state government.
They are planning to meet Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal and Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and discuss their demands.
Seat Sharing Talks Advance
A significant meeting occurred in Delhi involving key figures from the Congress and JMM to deliberate on the seat-sharing arrangement.
Among the attendees were Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Rajesh Thakur, State Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir, and notable Congress leaders Mukul Wasnik and Salman Khurshid.
This gathering underscores the collaborative effort to reach a consensus on the distribution of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand among the allies.
High-Level Delegations Meet
In a series of high-profile meetings, JMM’s Central Vice President and Chief Minister Champai Soren, accompanied by central general secretaries and MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu, met with Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi.
Described as a courtesy call, this meeting highlighted the ongoing discussions and the anticipated formalization of the seat-sharing formula. MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu emphasized the positive nature of these discussions, indicating that an official announcement is imminent.
