RANCHI – The Jharkhand State Students’ Union has announced plans to gherao the SSC office following allegations of malpractices in the JSSC CGL examination.
The controversy has intensified in recent days. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has ordered a CID probe into the matter.
Meanwhile, the commission has defended its examination process. JSSC Secretary Sudhir Gupta has rejected all allegations of wrongdoing.
Document Verification Process
The commission has called 2,231 qualified candidates. The verification will take place between December 16 and 22.
Moreover, out of these candidates, 2,145 are from Jharkhand. This data contradicts claims about outsiders dominating the selection.
“The examination was conducted in a fair manner,” a commission official stated. The JSSC had earlier formed a committee to investigate complaints.
Security Measures and Political Response
The district administration has taken preventive steps. Prohibitory orders are in effect within 500 meters of the SSC office.
In addition, security forces have been deployed at strategic locations. The restrictions will continue until December 20.
Meanwhile, the BJP has demanded a CBI investigation. The case is currently under review in the Jharkhand High Court.
Student Mobilization
JSSU leader Devendra Mahto is leading the protest movement. Students from all 24 districts plan to gather in Ranchi.
Furthermore, the union demands immediate cancellation of verification. The protest follows a major demonstration held on September 30.
The examination attracted 3.04 lakh candidates. It aims to fill junior-level government positions across the state.
