JAMSHEDPUR – At the World Sustainability Development Conference, organized by TERI in New Delhi, Tata Steel Foundation’s Green School initiative stood out as a beacon of sustainable education.

The conference theme, Leadership for Sustainable Development and Climate Justice, was a perfect match for the Foundation’s mission to engage youth in environmental stewardship.

Students from various schools, including those from Joda, DAV Alkusa, Jharia, and Steward School, Sukinda, shared their transformative journeys as part of the Green School initiative.

Their stories underscored the initiative’s impact on fostering sustainable habits within communities and among the younger generation.

The Tata Steel Foundation, through initiatives like Samvaad, supports the preservation of tribal wisdom, vital for maintaining ecological balance.

Sourav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation, advocated for a shift towards global sustainability, emphasizing the role of youth in driving this change.

With the aim of nurturing eco-conscious citizens, the Green School initiative has influenced over 23,000 students, 371 teachers, and 5,000 community members across Eastern India.
