Worker’s Tragic Fall Raises Questions over Safety Reassessment in Seraikela Industries
A young worker’s fall at a Seraikela-based company ends fatally, prompting calls for enhanced safety measures.
ADITYAPUR – In a grievous incident at a company (JMT) in Adityapur, 26-year-old Akhtar Ansari suffered fatal injuries after a 30-foot fall.
Colleagues swiftly transported Akhtar to TMH, where he was pronounced dead by the medical team upon assessment.
Akhtar, hailing from Gaus Nagar, Kapali, was performing his duties as a fitter alongside others, including Mohammad Chand, when the tragedy occurred.
The mishap took place as Akhtar inadvertently stepped on a fragile asbestos sheet while working at a significant height, leading to his fall.
The incident has deeply affected Akhtar’s family, who were seen grieving at TMH following the unfortunate news.
In the aftermath, the bereaved family has sought a compensation of Rs 5 lakh from the company’s management, highlighting concerns over workplace safety.
This tragedy underscored the critical need for stringent safety protocols and training for workers engaged in high-risk tasks.
