CII Jharkhand Hosts Workshop on Workplace Safety and Wellness

Leading Safety Experts Discuss Importance of Safety in Professional and Personal Life

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jharkhand recently conducted a significant workshop focusing on health and occupational safety, aimed at enhancing safety in the workplace and beyond.

JAMSHEDPUR – The workshop, themed “Prioritizing Wellness: Empowering Safety in the Workplace,” brought together over 120 participants from approximately 30 companies across Jharkhand.

Eminent safety leaders shared insights on integrating safety into all aspects of life, not just at work.

Ranjot Singh, Chairman of the CII Jharkhand State Council and Managing Director of Emdet Jamshedpur Pvt Ltd, underscored safety as a critical focus, revealing the economic impact of poor mental health on Indian businesses, which costs about $14 billion annually.

Diloo Parikh, Chairman of the CII Jamshedpur Zonal Council and Managing Director of Vaidehi Motors Pvt Ltd, highlighted the paramount importance of employee health and safety for successful business operations.

Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Convenor of the CII Jharkhand Safety Panel and Chief of Safety at Tata Steel Limited, advocated for viewing safety as an investment rather than a cost.

The event featured discussions by safety experts including Mr. Abhishek Kumar from Tata Steel Ltd, Dr. Abdul Mallick, and Mr. Sukesh Jha, who contributed their expertise on various safety topics.

The workshop provided a platform for attendees to learn about best practices and engage with thought leaders in the field of occupational safety and health.
