Man Dies by Suicide in Jamshedpur Over Denial of Money for Substance Use

JAMSHEDPUR – S Singh, a 40-year-old resident of Gadhabasa under Golmuri Police Station, died by suicide on Tuesday afternoon. Singh, who was addicted to drugs, reportedly hanged himself after his mother refused to give him money to sustain his habit.

The tragic incident came to light when Singh’s mother went to call him for lunch. Upon finding him hanging, she immediately informed the police. Golmuri Police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem.

According to the deceased’s father, C Singh, S Singh was unemployed and had been battling substance addiction for years. His addiction strained his personal life, leading his wife to leave him and return to her parents after two years of marriage.

The police are investigating the matter further, focusing on the circumstances that led to this fatal incident.
