Two Women Perish in Late Night Collision

A devastating car accident claims the lives of two women, leaving two men injured on the Saraikela-Chaibasa Main road.

CHAIBASA – A grave accident on the Saraikela-Chaibasa Main road near Pundihasa in Ghaghari village late Wednesday night resulted in the tragic loss of two women’s lives and injuries to two men, including the driver.

The collision involved a speeding car and a trailer, with the impact causing significant damage and leading to immediate fatalities and injuries.

Victims Manorama Devi, 55, of Chaibasa, and Sapna Gope, 20, from Nachrai Tola village, succumbed to their injuries, casting a shadow of grief over their families and communities.

The injured, Prashant Gupta, a 28-year-old lawyer driving the vehicle, and his clerk, 23-year-old Samir Banra, husband to the late Sapna Gope, received immediate medical attention for their injuries.

According to eyewitness accounts, the accident occurred during an overtaking maneuver, though there are conflicting reports about the exact circumstances leading up to the collision.

Samir Banra, providing details from the night, mentioned their return from a wedding party in Ranchi, highlighting the suddenness of the accident that left him and the other occupants unprepared for the impact.

The police have launched a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident and to determine the sequence of events that led to this tragic outcome.

The community mourns the loss of Manorama Devi and Sapna Gope, remembering them in light of the tragic circumstances that led to their untimely deaths.
