Sonari Airport Committees Strengthen Security, Environmental Management
Sonari Airport’s committees convened to enhance security and environmental safety, with a strict ban on nearby meat operations to prevent bird hazards.
JAMSHEDPUR – The local authority has been mandated to implement stringent measures to enhance environmental safety and operational security at Sonari Airport.
The District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner, Shri Manjunath Bhajantri, chaired the meeting where these directives were issued.
Prohibitions on the operation of meat shops and slaughterhouses near the airport were established to mitigate the risk of bird strikes, which could interfere with flight operations.
Further instructions included the pruning of tree branches around the airport’s perimeter and actions against public littering of food items.
This meeting, attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Kishore Kaushal, airport management officials, and committee members, focused on reviewing and improving security measures and environmental management.
It was within the Sonari Airport complex that the joint session of the Aerodrome Committee and Aerodrome Environment Management Committee took place under Shri Bhajantri’s leadership.
