Tata Union Returning Officer Election Twist: Candidate Withdraws Nomination

Abhay Kumar Mandal Withdraws from Tata Workers Union RO Election, Boosts Team Tunnu

In a dramatic turn of events, Abhay Kumar Mandal withdraws his nomination for the Returning Officer post in the Tata Workers Union elections.

JAMSHEDPUR – Abhay Kumar Mandal, an employee at Tata Steel’s Cold Rolling Mill, retracted his candidacy just hours before the election of Returning Officer for the union elections.

His withdrawal came after a meeting with Team Tunnu’s Chairman Sanjeev Choudhary Tunnu and General Secretary Satish Singh.

Mandal expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects of his department but revised his stance after discussions with the union’s leadership.

He emphasized that his decision to withdraw was not influenced by any external pressure.

Team Tunnu, led by Chairman Sanjeev Choudhary Tunnu, has nominated Srinivas Rao as their candidate for the Returning Officer role.

Mandal’s withdrawal marks a significant development for Team Tunnu, potentially easing internal opposition.

The decision was announced in the presence of General Secretary Satish Singh.

The election for the Returning Officer and election committee members of the Tata Workers Union is set for Thursday.

Mandal’s initial nomination was seen as a challenge to Team Tunnu’s candidate Srinivas Rao.

This development has brought a sense of relief to Team Tunnu and its supporters within the union.
