30 Crore Ayushman Cards Made, Top 10 states include Jharkhand

Desk – On January 12, 2024, the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) accomplished a significant milestone by producing 30 crore Ayushman cards.

The National Health Authority is in charge of carrying out this flagship program (NHA). It seeks to give 12 crore beneficiary families access to health coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.

The most fundamental task under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY is the creation of Ayushman Cards. To guarantee that each program participant has an Ayushman card, ongoing efforts are being undertaken in this regard.

It has been possible to create 30 crore Ayushman cards under the plan via persistent efforts.

More than 16.7 crore Ayushman cards have been manufactured throughout the previous two financial years alone.

As of right now, in the years 2023–2024, almost 7.5 crore Ayushman cards have been created. This indicates that about 181 Ayushman cards are created per minute.

Creating an Ayushman card is only one of the on-the-spot services provided at the November 15, 2023, Vikassheel Bharat Sankalp Yatra, which aims to guarantee that everyone receives different government of India subsidies.

At the local level, this initiative has greatly aided in speeding up card manufacture. During this trip, more than 2.43 crore Ayushman cards have been created. In addition, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s Ayushman Bhava campaign (which began on September 17, 2023) created around 5.6 crore Ayushman cards in order to guarantee that everyone may access different health services.

NHA has introduced the ‘Ayushman App’ to create an Ayushman Card in order to reach the final recipient. This app offers a unique capability of self-verification.

In 4 easy steps, using this facility user may produce Ayushman Card using Android mobile phone. In addition, anybody can assist the recipients with creating their Ayushman Cards.

As a result, Ayushman App promotes public engagement. The fact that this program has been downloaded over 52 lakh times since its September 13, 2023 debut serves as a barometer for its performance.

Uttar Pradesh is the state that produces the greatest amount of Ayushman cards, totaling 4.83 crore. With 3.78 crore and 2.39 crore Ayushman cards, respectively, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra are ranked second and third respectively. There are more than 1 crore Ayushman card holders in 11 states.

Ayushman cards have been created for women in excess of 14.6 crore cases to far. With 49% of Ayushman cards going to female recipients, the program aims to attain gender equality in access to health care coupled with regional and financial equality. Additionally, women have accessed 48% of the therapy offered under this program. Gender equality is therefore a fundamental component of this plan.
