MGM Hospital to Issue Ayushman Cards to BPL Patients

Ayushman card issuance for BPL patients with Aadhar and Lal cards at MGM Hospital.

New initiative at MGM Hospital aims to expand Ayushman card coverage.

JAMSHEDPUR – A new initiative at MGM Hospital now facilitates the issuance of Ayushman cards to all Below Poverty Line (BPL) patients upon admission.

Patients need to present their Aadhar card and Lal card to qualify for an Ayushman card during their hospital stay.

The four-day drive is part of a directive from state headquarters to ensure broader access to medical benefits.

Currently, out of over 27 lakh residents in East Singhbhum, only 9.75 lakh possess Ayushman cards.

Hospital staff are visiting wards to help patients complete the necessary forms for the Ayushman card.

This card provides patients with free access to certain medical tests and medications not available within the hospital.

Dr. Ravindra Kumar, the Hospital Superintendent, highlighted the significant benefits of having an Ayushman card.

Plans are underway to extend this initiative to Sadar Hospital and other health facilities in the region.

Dr. Jujhar Majhi, Civil Surgeon, confirmed that similar programs would soon begin in Sadar Hospital and Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital.

The aim is to expand this initiative to community health centers across the district, aligning with state directives.
