Brother in Critical Condition Amid Severe Heatwave in East Singhbhum
A young girl from Gudajhor village in Ghatshila has tragically passed away due to heat stroke, while her brother is in critical condition.
JAMSHEDPUR – Renuka Singh, an 8-year-old girl from Gudajhor village in the Ghatshila area of East Singhbhum district, tragically died from heat stroke on Saturday.
Her 10-year-old brother, Suman Singh, is currently in critical condition and receiving treatment at the Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital.
The siblings, children of Malinder Singh, had been suffering from fever for several days.
Seeking help, their mother initially consulted a local practitioner, who provided them with medication.
As their condition worsened, she rushed them to the Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital in a tempo.
Dr. Julie Kumari from the hospital reported that Renuka died en route to the hospital, while Suman arrived in a critical state.
Dr. Kumari suggested that Renuka’s high body temperature indicated a heat stroke as the cause of death.
Recently, the Ghatshila area has experienced a spate of heat-related deaths, including Devar Purti of Dahigora, who passed away on Friday.
This series of incidents underscores the severe impact of the ongoing heatwave in the region.
