CM Soren Stresses Need to Make Higher Education Accessible to All
Jharkhand government introduces initiatives to ensure no student misses higher education due to financial constraints, emphasizing equal opportunities for all.
RANCHI – Chief Minister Champai Soren launched the "Go Live of Student Application Module" under the Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme, marking a significant step towards making higher education accessible to all in Jharkhand.
During a high-level meeting of the Higher and Technical education Department at the Jharkhand Secretariat, CM Soren emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that no student in the state is deprived of higher and technical education due to financial difficulties.
Empowering Students Through Financial Aid
The newly launched online application system allows students selected for higher education institutions to apply for education loans up to ₹15 lakhs through partner banks. This initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to support underprivileged and meritorious students.
"We have introduced several schemes like the Guruji Credit Card Scheme, Chief Minister Education Incentive Scheme, and Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme," Soren stated. He stressed that these benefits should reach the poor and needy students effectively.
Expanding Educational Opportunities
CM Soren highlighted the government’s efforts to remove financial barriers for students pursuing various courses, including medical, engineering, fashion designing, journalism, and law. He also emphasized the need to improve the quality of higher and technical education within the state.
"We must ensure that our higher education institutions provide quality education along with strong campus placement opportunities," the Chief Minister remarked, addressing the issue of students leaving the state for better educational prospects.
Infrastructure Development
Soren directed officials to accelerate the construction of new degree colleges and educational buildings across the state.
He emphasized the importance of completing these projects within the stipulated time frame to benefit teachers and students.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to expedite the establishment of the Tribal University in Jamshedpur, highlighting its significance in promoting tribal languages and culture.
