Green Corridor Expressway Planned to Link Ranchi with Sahibganj and Beyond

The government has announced plans for a new expressway, a green corridor, to improve connectivity between Ranchi and other districts, including Sahibganj. Spanning approximately 325 km, this four-lane road is expected to reduce travel time and logistics costs significantly.

RANCHI – A major infrastructural development is set to transform connectivity in Jharkhand, with a new expressway planned to link the capital Ranchi with Sahibganj and other districts.

This green corridor expressway, designed to follow a completely new alignment, will span about 325 km.

Starting from Ranchi, the expressway will pass through Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, and Pakur before reaching Sahibganj.

The primary objective of this four-lane road is to facilitate quicker, more direct travel between the districts, significantly reducing distances and travel times.

The proposal for this ambitious project has been formulated by the NH sub-division and is currently awaiting approval from the Government of India.

Once approved, steps towards the construction of the expressway will commence.

According to Sunil Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Road Construction Department, the expressway is expected to notably reduce logistics costs.

The current routes necessitate lengthy travel for the transportation of goods, but this new expressway promises a more efficient path, potentially saving fuel and time.

This development is poised to make transportation within the state more economical and time-efficient, benefitting various sectors and the general populace.
