Third Prasuti Pratikshalay Opens in West Singhbhum, Enhancing Maternal Health Services
Tata Steel Foundation inaugurates its third Prasuti Pratikshalay in West Singhbhum, advancing maternal and child healthcare with the MANSI+ initiative.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Foundation, continuing its healthcare expansion efforts, opened a new Prasuti Pratikshalay in Bandgaon, West Singhbhum, on January 4, 2024.
The latest facility in Bandgaon joins the existing Prasuti Pratikshalays in Dumaria and Kuchai, showcasing Tata Steel Foundation’s commitment to maternal health in rural areas.
The Bandgaon Prasuti Pratikshalay, equipped with 10 beds, is designed to significantly reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in West Singhbhum, impacting around 17,017 households.
Through the MANSI+ initiative, this facility aims to minimize preventable maternal and child deaths by providing critical support to expectant mothers, especially those from remote regions.
The Prasuti Pratikshalay offers essential services, including accommodation, medicines, and nourishment, preparing mothers for referral to nearby Community Healthcare Centres (CHC) for delivery.
Sourav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation, emphasized the Foundation’s dedication to healthcare innovation and the successful expansion of the MANSI initiative across three districts in Jharkhand.
The inauguration was graced by notable guests including Joba Majhi, Jharkhand’s Minister of Women, Child Development and Social Security, Reena Hansda, SDM, and Dr Shahir Pal, CS, West Singhbhum.
The facility was inaugurated with a ceremony on January 4, 2024, attended by senior leadership from Tata Steel Foundation, government officials, and healthcare experts.
